My training to teach and heal has come from a combination of early adulthood experiences and deep study of most of Joel's tapes and books for almost 30 years. With gratitude, I am honored to acknowledge that I was a student of Will Hoff, one of Joel's teachers in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Will is mentioned in the 1964 Monthly Letter series. I studied closely with Will from 1986 to his transition, completing a challenging assignment for him, the outline of the 1959 Hawaiian Healing tapes. This 400 page outline may be ordered from cciwcc@gmail.com.
In the late 1990's I worked for Geri MacDonald as a practitioner, teacher, historian and archivist for two years as a volunteer. This blessing of seeing Joel's documents and correspondence has given me a unique perspective on Joel and his struggles as he established the Infinite Way.
I no longer have contact with Ms. MacDonald who, along with her daughter, Sue Ropac, have failed to re-unite The Infinite Way by simple collegiality and kindness toward those loyal to Joel's principles and instructions. By maintaining an intractable distance from Infinite Way workers, they insist (incorrectly) that Joel wanted no teachers, practitioners or tape groups. Emma's heirs claim there are no practitioners other than themselves, no teachers of the Infinite Way. There are no referrals or friendships. With these actions students feel abandoned and unserved. There is no legacy being developed in the work. (By now, there should be many teachers trained in this work, many practitioners raised in the 45 years since Joel left.)
At no time have I found materials or instructions which would, in any way, imply that Joel did not want his message carried on by future teachers and practitioners. He cautions us not to enter the work without being anointed from Within, but this is only to spare us, not at all to limit the work. It is absolutely false to say that Joel did not want practitioners or teachers. A simple review of the tape catalogue shows scores of Teacher Tapes and Practitioner Tapes. Check for yourself.
Since 1997, I have taught independently in the style of Will Hoff as he learned meditation from his teacher, Joel. My approach focuses on meditation, the major principles of The Nature of Prayer, The Nature of God, the Nature of Error in each and every class (as Joel demands of his teachers), healing, special World Work and Illumination meditations, daily practices and translating the principles into the student's life experience.
I use only Joel's materials, tapes and original writings. I do not record classes. They are delivered and retained in the heart of the student, and "fresh manna" falls daily.
